背格式：
小作文重格式的特点要求考生们在格式上不能犯错，必须注意熟悉一些应用文的格式和英文中应用文的表达习惯。提示：格式无误是小作文得高分的第一步。
举2011年小作文题目为例：
Write a letter to a friend of yours to
1） re#mend one of your favorite movies and
2） give reasons for your re#mendation.
You should write about 100 words on ANSWER SHEET2.
Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter. Use ”Li Ming“ instead.
Do not write the address. （10points）
